Hello, my name is Zachary Winig and this is going to be my first post on the blog. I will be posting ever month about new news or subjects about environmental engineering. This month I listened to a podcast on Spotify on how wind energy could power the earth on Ted Climate.

What I found interesting:
- Denmark has been replacing power sources such as oil, gas, and coal with wind for their everyday uses.
- To harness the wind, you need to create turbines which spin due to the wind in the air
- A new invention was created to solve the problem of the two biggest faults of the turbine
- First, how would people get power if there isn't any wind
- Second, what will happen to the machines that cannot be electrified
- The electrolyzer, solves this problem as it transfers wind power into hydrogen molecules that can be stored in case there is no wind or to decarbonize the air
Thank you for listening to my blog on Environmental Engineering and listen in for a new post next month.
